An Indian boy's candle in the wind!!!

I don't know since when and why and how, but I have always been a very patriotic kid. At age 7, I was jingoistic. 4 years later during my first Indian history class, the feeling only grew. Since then, ofcourse, I have become more rational (atleast in my eyes).

All that said, I am as aggrieved as the lay Indian lying on a streetside porch. I feel 61 precious years have been wasted, post independence. While larger countries like China and tinier ones like Japan have glided past and way above us, we remain 'on the path of progress!' The problem is that there are simply too many problems- leaders who are corrupt or innefectual or both, combined with people who have long lost hope is scarcely the recipe for a nation on the move. And those are precisely the ingredients in action, say what you may.

So, do I Kibitzersque-ly go on and on, or stop and offer my renewed hope? For, that is the need of the hour. Time may be running out for India, Bharat and Hindustan to recapture its glory days. But I HOPE it's still not too late. What is needed is not an evolutionary crawl, but a revolutionary leap. And very often, revolutions arise from within the masses and not from so-called leaders. Be the change you want to see in India, in your own small (or big) way! Wishing this independence day is a special hope-renewing one, when more than a handful of people show the rest of us the way to the top!!!!!
